You know you’re frustrated by getting dressed. You’ve tried every wardrobe guide and style book, but they haven’t made things easier for you. You’ve wondered what gene you’re missing that other women have that makes it so easy for them to be “pulled together”.

What you haven’t stopped to consider is what you actually want to wear. You haven’t stopped to consider what you feel best in. This is because you’ve been getting messages all your life from others about what you should be wearing. Bottom line, it all comes down to the pressures and unrealistic standards women have been expected to conform to. Until you work through how those have manifested in your life, getting dressed won’t ever get easier.

I'm Dacy. I work one-on-one with women who’ve always felt dissatisfied with their clothes to feel at home in their own individual authentic style by processing the external expectations they’ve been operating under.

My one-on-one styling work is completed during an 8-week period. This is a longer form program because developing style and body acceptance and releasing the messages you’ve been given isn’t something that happens in one session. It’s an ongoing process that takes time to sink in.

Here’s how it works:

We'll work together one-on-one for 8 weeks. You'll get:

  • 5 one-on-one calls with me: a define your style session, a closet edit session, a shopping tutorial session, a try-on session, and an integration session

  • meaningful processing notes after each session

  • a round of personal shopping done for you (typically 4-5 hours)

  • ongoing email support

You’ll also get:

  • Clarification on your style keywords

  • Recommendations of what you can let go of from your current wardrobe

  • Online shopping training

  • An online selection of items to try chosen just for you

  • Guidance on creating a capsule wardrobe (if that's something you're interested in)

Cost: $2497

“I was drawn to Dacy's aesthetic, philosophy, and values based on her Instagram content. I decided to work with her because I wanted a more curated closet. I felt that I owned too many clothes and wanted her help to better understand my style and create a closet that I love. I enjoyed the process of meeting with her virtually and getting her feedback on the clothes I own. She provided incredible insights that I would not have discovered on my own, and I really learned WHY I shop the way that I do and how to change my approach. It was great fun to have her shop for me using her trained eye to find some unique pieces. Even after we completed our meetings, she was available to give her opinion on some additional items that I ordered. Working with Dacy is an investment in yourself that will pay dividends into the future.”

“To say that Dacy changed my life is an understatement. I’ve been struggling with clothes for 20+ years (despite working in fashion!) and she switched that within our first session. We were working with a couple of difficulties: starting a wardrobe from scratch and my living abroad. Dacy adapted to those demands by giving me local shopping solutions suited to my budget, as we built a capsule wardrobe together via Zoom sessions.

Thanks to Dacy’s sensitivity and gentle touch I finally connected with my true style after years of thinking I had none, and acquired concrete tools I’m now able to use to navigate shopping on my own. After years of changing room meltdowns and thousands spent on clothing that made me feel uncomfortable in my own body, this feels truly life changing. Dacy is an amazing listener and has a gentle way of guiding you towards self confidence and self trust. She’s not your regular stylist and never pushes looks, brands  or rehashed concepts on you. Rather she’s  a wardrobe whisperer / clothes therapist who knows how to create a safe space to express your truest self and imagine a relationship to clothes that’s free of shame and shoulds.”

about me

I’m Dacy (it's like Stacy but with a D).

I'm a former classical musician who hated performing. I’m an introvert who loves people but hates talking on the phone. I love to eat but hate meal planning and I love to shop but hate spending money.

I grew up in Mobile, Alabama, but have also lived in Portland, Houston, NYC, and Miami. I currently live in St. Louis with my husband and two little boys.

Unlike other personal stylists, I’m not going to tell you what the latest trends are and what to buy. My specialty is asking the questions that make you realize you already know what you want to wear, but you haven’t been listening to yourself because the voices around you are louder than yours.

You’ve been wearing things for all the wrong reasons, and you know it, but you need someone to call you on it. That's me.

I’ve helped hundreds of one-on-one clients and thousands of readers let go of the external messages they’ve been given about what they should wear and make way for a simpler, more authentic way of expressing their style.

faq’s

  • I have in the past, but am not currently accepting male clients.

  • I'll send you the mindful closet questionnaire before our first visit. The questionnaire is designed to focus your attention on the function of your clothing: how and why you choose it, what you spend your money on, where you wear them. If you don’t already have one, I'll ask you to set up a Pinterest page for your style. This is not to collect images of things you think work for your body, not what you think will fit, not what you think you should wear or have been told is most flattering. It should be things that you're drawn to aesthetically, that you like the look of. My job is to make that look fit your body and your life.

  • I want to see how you authentically interact with your wardrobe, so no need to clean up before our session. However, having all your laundry done is helpful. Make sure we have access to a mirror.

  • If I shop for you without taking the time to get to know you, I might as well be dressing a mannequin. You have preferences, style goals, and specific lifestyle needs that all need to be taken into account in order to do the most productive and mindful shopping.

  • No problem. Remember, my thing is making a few mindful purchases. I’m also the queen of thrifting, so I’m used to working with any budget. We buy the best quality we can with what you have. There’s also the possibility that you have what you need, but it’s just hidden by all the excess in your closet.

  • Most of my clients have struggles with fit. It’s why they reach out to me. Because of my experience with all shapes and sizes, I know the best resources for what you need. I’m able to tell you why certain things won’t work for you and find options that will. I have extensive experience with plus-size, extended plus size, tall, and petite clients.

  • I don’t expect that everyone will share my affinity for neutrals. My goal is to help you define the style you love and implement it. I won’t be telling you to buy what I like, but to buy what you like.

  • A little, except that I’m much nicer than Stacy and Clinton. :) Also, as I mentioned above, we won’t be dressing you based on what I think you should wear, but what you feel best in.

  • Not at this time.

P.S. It’s more important than ever to acknowledge the ways white supremacy and patriarchy have created unreasonable standards for how we are expected to present ourselves, compare ourselves to each other, and achieve perfection. In our work together, we’ll work through every aspect of your wardrobe through this lens.
